What is a Gearsy?

Gearsy is a new term I am proposing for robot, android, and cyborg enthusiasts! An informal way of describing it would be "a furry but instead of animals it's robots."

I have many friends who like robots, desire to be one, or even identify as such, but I grew frustrated with the lack of a proper umbrella term. I've seen terms like clankie and synthoid thrown around, but those don't really encapsulate the feeling, ya know?

Gearsy actually comes from the Hyperdimension Neptunia series, where it is a cute nickname for the character Nepgear. She also has an interest in robots! That, combined with the general mecha-musume flair of some of the character designs in Neptunia, it feels like a fitting nod, don't you think?

I should really get some cute robot ears, to wear out in public... I think that would make me very happy...
